How to Register
Registering is free at
Smalltrades, if you wish to bid on an Item that is up for
bids you must Register first, if you want to List an Item
for sale you must Register. It cost nothing to register
here and Smalltrades Auctions does not require a credit
card to register. Just read and accept the User's
Aggreement and fill in the Registeration form and that's
it, you're ready to bid or sell on Smalltrades Online
Auctions.
The info collected on our
online registeration form is for auction use only and
will not be given to third parties, so you don't have to
worry about receiving emails from hundreds of maillist.
We will send you an email with your password to the
address you submit when registering and updates when
necessary concerning auction items you are bidding on or
selling.
Bidding Help
Remember you must register
to place a bid.When you see an item that you wish to bid
on, scroll down the page to the Bid form and enter the
amount you wish to bid. The minimum bid you may place is
listed for you to see in the minimum bid field. Next fill
in your user name and password and click on Place Bid.That's
there is to it. View the item again and it will display
the high bidders username on the view item page. If you
are the high bidder when the Auction for the item closes
you will be sent an email with the pertinent info for
completing your transaction with the seller.
Sellers Help
It's very easy to list an
item at smalltrades auctions, First you must register,
only registered users can bid and buy or list and sell
items here.After Registering go to the list items for
sale page by clicking on the link from any page at
our site, usually found in the header or footer area.
Next,in the listing form
Fill in the Title/Name
of theItem you wish to plce for bids. Be
descriptive but don't mislead.
Select a Category
from the drop down list by clicking on the most
appropiate category for the sale item.
If you have a
picture enter the URL in the field for image URL.
If you wish you can upload a pic from your PC to our server from the list item page. Click the Link at the Pic URL area of the form and when the upload complete's, Copy the Pics link address and Paste it into the form in the Pic URL box, thats all there is to it. If the pic doesn't show on the preview page, hit your browsers back button and reload the picture with a different name. Smalltrades Auctions
Picture hosting service is for registered users only.
Enter the number
of days you want the auction to run from 1 to 14
in the box.
Enter the
description of the sale item in the description
box. Be clear and precise in your desc. but avoid
sales pitch as this is one way to lose someones
trust in you in an auction, especially an online
internet auction. And above all, be Honest, if an
item is damaged, specify Damaged and describe the
extent of damage. Also include Payment details
and Shipping & Handling details ie; Who pays
Shipping and Handling and if you know the cost,
what the cost will be. View some of the listings
before you list your item to get a feel of how
you should describe it.
Next enter your
Username in the Handle /Alias field.
Enter your
Password in the Password field.
Enter the Price
you would like the bidding to start at. Keep in
mind this could be the only bid you will receive
and if you don't put a reserve price on the item
you will be required to sell at this price if no
other bids are received, so put a price here that
you are willing to sell at if you don't intend to
put a reserve price on the item. tip;Keep
the starting price as low as you can and still
sell the item.
Next field is
where you enter a reserve price if you wish. This
is the lowest price you will be obligated to sell
at if you fill in this field. If you don't want a
reserve price just leave this set at 0.
The next field is
the Bid increment or how much you want the bid to
advance with each bid received, usually $0.50 Or
$1.00.
Click the Preview
Button (click only once to avoid listing the item
multiple times)
On the preview
page you will see your item listed as it will
appear on the view item page. Read the listing to
make sure all info is correct before you finish.
If everything is O K click the list Item button.
If you need to correct something hit the back
button on your browser tool bar and then preview
again before you finish. tip; If you
can't see your pic on the preview page, double
check the image URL because that is where most
failures occur.Check your image type, It has to
be .jpg or .jpeg or .gif filename extension. That
is the only Image format we support. Most of the
listing info fields are self explanatory on the
form , just be accurate with your info and it
will go very smooth.
